Eight groups are starting something new

Eight community foundations have decided to build new, lasting relationships with the local business sector, supported by the EU’s Stronger Roots program – it was revealed at the foundations’ traditional summer-opening event.

The community foundations held their usual annual summer-opening meeting on June 6th in Budapest. Led by Gábor Héra, we discussed how the impact of our work and activities can and should be measured and evaluated. An unavoidable topic was how city and district dynamics will change in the post-election world, how local communities can be strengthened within this changing environment, and what new opportunities are opening up for community foundations.

Important announcements were also made. Eight community foundations have decided that, with the support of the EU’s Stronger Roots program, they will begin building new, and hopefully lasting relationships with the local business sector. This means they will be testing entirely new, or brand new to them, fundraising and networking programs over the coming year.

We will keep you updated on the participants and the launching programs.

We always write it down because it’s true: we were genuinely happy to see each other, had a great time, and enjoyed wonderful conversations.
