Private Funds
Through our professional work, we manage private funds established by individual or family donors—either publicly or anonymously—to provide long-term support for causes they care about, such as strengthening civic participation, developing local communities, or reducing exclusion. In our partnership, we connect you with civil organizations that align with your company’s values and interests, through a co-designed process. Drawing on over a decade of experience, we support companies in becoming responsible actors that achieve real and lasting change.
Event-Based Giving
At Live Crowdfunding Night, our community fundraising event, we experience together the unique joy of giving—and the uplifting feeling that we truly can change the world, each with our own contribution. The Live Crowdfunding Night combines fundraising and team-building: three teams representing selected social causes present their projects, and participants make their pledges—financial or otherwise—openly and spontaneously in support of their chosen initiatives.
Giving Circles
Giving circles are volunteer-based groups whose members pool their resources, jointly decide on what to support, and often build direct relationships with the initiatives they fund. A giving circle can be started by a group of friends, a professional community, a local group, or anyone united by a common interest or cause. Our foundation offers professional guidance through consultations and workshops, helping you make the giving circle process as effective and enjoyable as possible.
Legacy Giving
Legacy giving—or testamentary giving—offers a way to support the causes, values, and communities that were meaningful to you during your lifetime, even after your passing. Such a decision is not only a financial contribution, but a deeply personal message: it expresses belief in shared responsibility and in the idea that social change is a long-term, intergenerational process. We welcome those who wish to dedicate part of their estate to a fairer, more democratic Hungary. By naming the Roots and Wings Foundation in your will, you extend your impact beyond a single cause—to society as a whole. Testamentary donations with us reach local communities that create genuine change in their own environments—often doing vital yet under-recognized work.

The Roots and Wings Foundation is a supporting organization: we build bridges between donors and social initiatives while providing not only financial, but also human and professional support.
For 11 years, we have been strengthening the culture of giving in Hungary—working toward a fairer society that bravely supports less visible or less “marketable” initiatives: those that build democracy by fostering dialogue, empowering local communities, or defending the rights of marginalized people.

As part of this joint process, we
- handle all administrative tasks (grant agreements, fund transfers and scheduling, financial reports, narrative reports, and monitoring),
- tailor the grant portfolio and selection process to donor preferences,
- maintain contact between all parties and keep donors regularly informed about the use of their gifts,
- provide professional and personal support to grantees, and
- promote the work of supported organizations and the philanthropic efforts of donors—because good examples deserve to be shared.
