Legacy Giving
Would you like your life’s values to live on? Do you believe it’s important for a cause to impact those who come after us? Do you live a conscious life, but want to secure and strengthen certain communities even after your death?
Legacy giving – also known as bequest support – is an opportunity through which a person can continue to support the causes, values, and communities that were important to them during their lifetime, even after their death. Such a decision represents not only financial support but also a personal message: it speaks to our belief in shared responsibility and in the fact that social change is a process that spans generations.

The Roots and Wings Foundation welcomes those who wish to invest a portion of their legacy in the future of a more just, more democratic Hungary. By designating the Roots and Wings Foundation, you can make an impact not only on a single cause, but on society as a whole. Bequest donations with us reach local communities that bring real change to their own environments – often doing crucial social work that is less visible, yet essential.
Legacy giving can take the form of donating a specific sum or asset, or even long-term support for a foundation program or goal. In every case, we ensure that such contributions are used in a worthy, transparent manner and in accordance with the testator’s intentions.
MEET JUDIT FARKAS KOVÁCS
Judit Farkas Kovács approached our foundation in 2023 with the intention of honoring the memory of her late husband through a noble gesture: she offered 25 million forints to support social initiatives.
Giving structure to a good cause – that’s what we believe in. We implemented Judit’s vision in a people-centered, flexible way, tailored to the needs of the beneficiaries. This is how the support package came to be, which:
- helps disadvantaged children,
- also supports civil initiatives and entrepreneurs operating in the Balaton Uplands,
- and provided substantial, targeted support to 7 organizations and individuals.
Judit’s story is exemplary, and nlc. made a moving film about it, which you can watch here:
