A Remarkable Success for Live Crowdfunding Night

Live Crowdfunding Night, held with the support of MagNet Bank, turned into an unforgettable evening. It set a new record in the long history of similar Hungarian fundraising events, raising a total of HUF 6,696,000. We extend our heartfelt thanks to every donor and participant who made this extraordinary result possible.

The Dobbantóház project of the Útelágazás Foundation received HUF 3,650,000, Labor Café received HUF 1,770,000, and the Zöldendre Association received HUF 1,276,000 from the generous audience. Thanks to this support, these initiatives will be able to bring even their most ambitious plans, presented during the evening, to life.

At the end of the event, representatives of the teams shared that the attention, encouragement, and solidarity they experienced meant just as much to them as the financial support. Together, these elements—on a local level—truly contribute to changing our world for the better.

Below is a closer look at the initiatives supported during the event.

The goal of the Zöldendre Association is to preserve the Szentendre–Pomáz plain—a landscape visible from the local HÉV suburban railway between the two towns—in its current size and character. The association works to protect the area from being fragmented by bypass roads, park-and-ride facilities, and residential developments. This former floodplain of the Danube functions as a natural water retention area, an asset of critical importance in the context of climate change—not only for the local community but also for the wider Budapest metropolitan region. The current project aims to foster an emotional connection between local residents—especially children—and the natural environment through interpretation and educational activities, based on the belief that what we come to know and love, we are less likely to allow to be destroyed.

Labor Café is a donation-based café and open community space in Nyíregyháza, where individuals, communities, and social causes intersect. The founders describe their work as an ongoing experiment: an experiment in transforming individuals into communities, and in mobilizing a city around shared social goals. Maintaining the space provides volunteers and donors with a practical setting to connect, collaborate, and build new relationships. As they describe themselves: “Labor Café shapes mindsets, supports, engages, and inspires. It teaches freedom—and the responsibility that comes with it.”

Their fundraising goal was to cover unexpected operational costs, ensuring financial stability, and to relaunch their traditional winter cooking program for people experiencing homelessness.

The Dobbantóház project of the Útelágazás Foundation is deeply personal in its origins. Iván, the organization’s director, grew up in residential care himself and is intimately familiar with the challenges of entering adulthood without family support. For the past ten years, he has worked to ease the transition to independent life for young people leaving state care. One of the most important pillars of this work is Dobbantóház, which provides housing and a safe starting point for young adults who age out of the child protection system without family or support networks. The funds raised will enable the foundation to expand its 1–3 month crisis accommodation program, allowing more young people in urgent need to access safe housing and support.

Our foundation will monitor the implementation of the supported projects and regularly report on their progress and results.
